CFC - Commit to working on WCAG 2.2

Call For Consensus — ends Tuesday March 5th at 9am Boston time.

The Working Group has discussed how to focus the efforts of the group over the next 12-24 months and the proposal is that the WG can address the short-term need for improvements to Techniques and Understanding and begin to ramp-up work within the Working Group on Silver, and commit to a WCAG 2.2, which will avoid the possibility of a large gap in time between the June 2018 WCAG 2.1 and Silver reaching Rec.

An increasing proportion of Working Group time is expected to be dedicated to Silver, but this is expected to take many forms, including more regular updates from the task force and feedback from the main WG body to the TF, joint discussions about Silver requirements, and eventually a proportion of time spent on Silver development work at such time as it is determined by the Working Group (including the task force members) that it is productive to do so.

By accepting this CFC you agree that the WG will commit to working on content for a WCAG 2.2.

If you have concerns about this proposed consensus position that have not been discussed already and feel that those concerns result in you “not being able to live with” this decision, please let the group know before the CfC deadline.

Kind regards,

-Alastair
