David, in my opinion you are correct. Under your example of western text that is wider than the viewport, but the block of text does not extend beyond the vertical boundaries of the viewport, I believe they would have still have to do the zig zag to read the end of each line. It's not a problem at the "text block" level, its at the "line of text" level. This is my experience in accommodating low vision users. Wayne feel free to correct me if I'm not getting this understanding of the problem right. Cheers, David MacDonald CanAdapt Solutions Inc. On the phone you can swipe horizontally to scroll that section. Personally, I think it’s harder to have sections that have independent scrolling in the same direction as page scrolling (e.g. iframes or maps), they catch me out every time. There are other considerations (e.g. screenreader usage), but if the visual design makes it clear, I haven’t found it problematic in itself. Cheers, -Alastair From: Wayne Dick Hi Everyone, I always try to think how these scenarios would play out on a mobile phone. The presentation is usually linear. So, there would be bands of content that were either entirely vertical or entirely horizontal. Has anyone looked at these cases on a phone? Best Wayne
