Re: Example icons for non-text contrast

Thanks Glenda,

I’m wary of using commercially licensed icons in something that might become a W3C doc, but I was thinking of websites with icons on, so it’s a good short-cut to find icons sets.

Perhaps I can find a freely licensed gradient icon set. Or I can raid Wikipedia perhaps? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Information.svg

Taking some popular sites (e.g. Github, BBC) and even an app (Outlook), I’m struggling to find examples of icons which are difficult to test. In fact, most icons I’ve tested so far pass fairly easily, and obviously.

I’ll look at more complex infographics next, but can anything think of a site which uses complex icons (e.g. with gradients, lots of colours), that aren’t supplementary to text?
