RE: Someone has mapped WCAG 2.1 back to WCAG 2.0

This is an interesting approach of circumventing our stated goal of making 2.1 backwards compatible (and keeping 2.0 whole and unchanged). I appreciate the effort of pushing adoption of 2.1, but IMHO this doesn’t really serve the cause of either 2.0 or 2.1. Not sure what our response could/should be, but I would like to see us offer up some kind of message in which we explicitly discourage cramming 2.1 SC into 2.0 standards.

It looks like he's trying to find a way to evaluate sites for 2.1 conformance under the 508 which only requires WCAG 2.0... so he's saying failures that would normally map to our new 2.1 SCs, can be mapped to existing 2.0 SCs in the table...

Kind of bizarre and weird...

Jon,

Thanks for sharing this. Am I misreading it or is the author suggesting that the 2.1 SC are replacing 2.0 SC?

Thanks,

As an FYI – I think the group should be aware of this.
