Re: Adding a non-task force SC

Right now the purpose of the issues in the WCAG 2.1 repo (http://github.com/w3c/wcag21) is for proposals for new SC in WCAG 2.1.

Feel free to add it there, taking a look at issue 1 as the guide to the format.

Regarding the animation SC, my initial take is that the way to make this acceptable to stakeholders we need to have a way for authors to use animation (in some cases it may provide benefit to some users) and a way for end-users to turn it off or limit it. Can users turn it off today in the same way that many low-vision users do to modify the appearance of web content with custom style sheets? (I don’t know the answers to these questions). I’m sure that we can do more in Silver when we can speak to user agent requirements better, but we can discuss the problem and the solution and see what we can do for 2.1.

Thanks,

Hi,

A brief process question: For a non task-force SC, what is the next step to get it included for consideration in 2.1?

E.g. this one:
https://www.w3.org/WAI/GL/wiki/Animation_caused_by_user_interaction

Do I need to add it to github?

If anyone has any feedback on that proposed SC first, I would appreciate it soon…

Thanks,

-Alastair
