I can confirm that Safari on iOS does display the noembed content and it is announced by VoiceOver. The technique indicates that it's only rendered when the embed is not support -- which is still the case today. So while of limited use it still seems like a valid technique and not inaccurate IMO. NOTE: This is an advisory technique. There may be a valid use case on iOS but reports are unsubstantiated. [1] H46 doesn't really work in modern AT: http://www.powermapper.com/tests/screen-readers/media/embed-noembed-after/ http://www.powermapper.com/tests/screen-readers/media/embed-noembed-inside/ Some WCAG failures trigger fewer problems than this sufficient technique. Proposed Change: Remove technique. Worth noting that an alternative technique based on FIGCAPTION does seem to work well: http://www.powermapper.com/tests/screen-readers/media/embed-figcaption/ If you have concerns about this proposal and feel that those concerns result in you not being able to live with this position, please let the group know before the CfC deadline.
