I love your edit... and have made the change on the page.

The other issue to solve is exception #3 which tries to address a concern
introduced by another member who said "live updates on an NBA home page
would drive end users crazy."

I thought about introducing the idea of # of updates a minute. So the 3rd
exception currently reads.

... unless the primary purpose of the web page is to provide​ real time
updates where there are more than [x] update(s) a minute.

My thinking is that we could ask the blind community how many updates is
too much.... What are your thoughts on that and how do you think we could
address the risk of aria-live overload?
