On most (if not any) Web page, a sighted user can quickly discern page divisions like header / banner, nav, main, etc. Use of the HTML5 sectioning elements / Aria landmarks allows non-sighted AT users to perceive these divisions too. So this structure / info-relationships available via presentation can now be exposed via markup too. ARIA11 says landmarks should be used to supplement native markup. Headings and skip to content link allow one to pass 1.3.1 and 2.4.1 minimally without allowing SR users to exploit the support for this 'new' aaccessibility feature of discovering / navigating between landmarks. This is the first of the best practice examples covered at a CSUN 2016 session www.mindoversight.com/csun/2016/Overview.html Thanks, Sailesh Panchang
