Hello, all. Just a quick note of introduction. I’m Sarah Horton and I work at The Paciello Group as the UX Strategy Lead. I’ve been working at TPG for about two and a half years. Before that I worked over 20 years in higher education in the US, in interface design, instructional technology, and web strategy. I’ve been involved with accessibility since the early 2000s. I spent some time on the Education and Outreach Working Group, but otherwise have not been that involved in W3C activities. My colleague, Dave Sloan, and I launched the Accessible Online Learning Community Group: https://www.w3.org/community/accesslearn/ We are just starting out, with an initial focus on exploring how W3C technologies support online learning activities. I joined the WCAG Working Group because the guidelines are so influential as a specification for building accessible digital products. We use the guidelines extensively in audit and evaluation activities. I want to bring that practitioner perspective to the ongoing work of developing the guidelines. I also want to explore how the guidelines might better support online learning. I look forward to working with you all!
