Attached is my draft ARIA technique for SC3.3.3 updated per the comments previously received in the first survey for this technique.. I attempted to resolve all the comments received as follows (I summarized the comments for brevity - apologies if I misinterpreted comments) : James Nurthen: COMMENT: change HTML5 to HTML - ACTION: done COMMENT: in IMG in examples make alt consistent - ACTION: IMG removed from examples COMMENT: add script to example - ACTION: done I think (not sure whether I included enough or correct parts of script?) COMMENT: example 2,3,4 not complete - ACTION: they are removed for now COMMENT: ariadescribedby not necessary for SC3.3.3 but helpful to have in -- ACTION: reworded to attempt to convey this COMMENT: no more than one required HTML form field included in example for brevity - ACTION: done (NOTE: HTML5 has a "required" attribute, HTML4 does not; I could use aria-required to denote "required" field, but then I'd be violating comment below about Breaking ARIA-xxx into separate techniques?) Loretta: COMMENT: remove duplication in first paragraph of description -- ACTION: removed COMMENT: break ARIA-xxx attributes into separate techniques - ACTION: will do (but left ariadescribedby in per James Nurthen comment - maybe can take it out if necessary?) COMMENT: is it ARIA technique or HTML5 technique? - ACTION: I updated title to make it ARIA technique but can call it something else..? COMMENT: test procedure should be related to mark-up like in H44? -- ACTION: tried to reword test procedure to do this COMMENT: should understand what to do in technique from description -- ACTION: tried to reword description to do this.. COMMENT: technique should explain how to provide suggestion (presumably as content of the alert) - ACTION: attempted to modify description to include this idea.. Marc Jolic: COMMENT: Change HTML5 to HTML in applicability section - ACTION: done COMMENT: typo in second paragraph of description section - ACTION: that paragraph was removed COMMENT: add scripting to show error text - ACTION: done I think (not sure whether I included enough or correct parts of script?) Bruce Bailey: COMMENT: remove parts about img and png in example - ACTION: done Further comments welcome - if necessary I'll go back and work on it some more.. Thanks and best wishes Tim Boland NIST
