I can't think of any reason for it (although I do it myself as a legacy from my old XHTML fanboy days - I haven't gotten around to implementing a filter in my CMS to convert it back to HTML 4.01 yet), but at least it is a "MAY be served as text/html" rather than "SHOULD NOT be served as text/html". -- David Dorward http://dorward.me.uk
