Hi all, Have just updated our internal working draft[1] with changes from the past few weeks. Please review for approval for publication to TR at this week's meeting. The change history [2] has also been updated. Introduction * User Needs: replaced "cannot see" and "cannot hear" with "cannot see well and cannot hear well." (Issue 399) * Conformance: revised based on proposals from the July 12-15 face to face. Principle 1 * Guideline 1.1: revised significantly per John's rewrite of 1.1, telecom discussions and subsequent proposals. * Guideline 1.1: added "Multimedia alternatives are provided according to guideline 1.2 (Issue 322) Principle 2 * Guideline 2.1: revised level 3 success criteria to read, "All functionality of the content is designed to be operated through a keyboard or keyboard interface." Was, "All of the functionality of the content is operable via a keyboard or keyboard interface." (Issue 891) * Guideline 2.4: removed success criterion, "Different structural elements look or sound different from each other and from body text." (Issue 780) * Guideline 2.4: removed item "c" and "d" from level 3, item 4, "Supplying an informative title for each page or resource that can be accessed independently (for example, from a search results page)," and, "Supplying a unique title for each page or resource that can be accessed independently (for example, from a search results page)." (Issue 830) * Guideline 2.4: added new criterion at level 2 that reads, "Each page or other resource that can be accessed separately and that supports a title has a title that identifies the subject or purpose of the resource." (Issue 830) * Guideline 2.4: removed criteria from level 3, "Structural emphasis is evident on at least the following displays: (a) black and white monitor, (b) low resolution screens (160 x 160 pixels), (c) "mono" audio playback devices." (Issue 831) Principle 3 * Guideline 3.1: removed criterion from level 2, "Page titles are informative." (Issue 830) * Guideline 3.2: revised success criterion for clear link text to read, "The destination of each link is identified through words or phrases that either occur in the link or can be programmatically determined." Was, "The target of each link is clearly identified." (Issue 832) Glossary * Included a definition for "link."
