Dear All, Here is my application for joining the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines Working Group (as an invited expert): Given Name: Sean Family Name: Palmer Email Address: sean@mysterylights.com Office Telephone Number: (01273) 702700 Employer / Organization: WAP Tech Info We are *not* a W3C member (i.e. non-W3C member.) Area of interest: (Non W3C members please state area of expertise) [Note: writing this as prose for succintness] I have worked for some time now on XHTML, and XHTML m12n. I have a disability myself, and have seen others struggle with site accessibility: promoting me to research the area thoroughly. I am interested in making XHTML accessible, especially using CSS (for example, I lobbied for inclusion of an optional content property in CSS3). I am also heavily interested in document semantics, and using meta-data for accessibility. I am committed especially to pursuing the HTML and CSS techniques aspect of this WGs charter. Other areas of experience: CC/PP, XML, XML Schemas, RDF, RDF Schemas. I have authored a large amount of technical work and articles. I *have* read the WC Guidelines Working Group Charter and agree to the participation criteria therein (with the side-note exception that due to disability I am unable to travel. I am however able to spend a considerable amount of time working on the WG). http://www.w3.org/WAI/GL/new-charter-2000.html $ Date: 2000/11/08 08:27:05 $ Intellectual Property Rights (check one): [Yes] To the best of my knowledge, I believe my organization does not have any IPR claims regarding guidelines for the accessibility of Web content. Thank you for your time and consideration: the level of public interaction of this WG is highly appreciated. Kindest Regards, Sean B.
