You don’t have write privileges so you have to send in a pull request from your repository, which makes sure that I have seen your changes. (This is the rule for everyone but W3C staff.) If you click “Edit” on the complex images page, Github is doing all the dirty work for you, it forks the repository into your account, lets you make changes and send in a pull request in one flow.
