Hi All, Some quick feedback on the Quick Reference below. Thanks, Henny * Quick Reference http://www.w3.org/WAI/WCAG20/quickref/20071211/Overview.php <http://www.w3.org/WAI/WCAG20/quickref/20071211/Overview.php> Many of our previous suggestions have been implemented in this draft. Overall this is looking lots better and more of a usable tool. I like the fact that the "Technologies" section in the "Customize this Quick Reference" has been expanded out to client-side, server-side and ARIA stuff - really useful. The show / hide intro is great as well as I want to read it once but not every time. 1. Typo "In the Customizing section below..." The section is not below but no at the side. 2. HTML selected by default in the "Customize this Quick Reference" I find this really hard to work with depending on what task I have in mind. Having the HTML selected by default prevents me from drilling down into the information relevant to me if I am a Flash developer for example. Would be great to have this one as optional as well. 3. "go to show/hide settings" This I didn't find too intuitive at first. Wasn't quite sure a) what to expect or b) what it did. I imagine this will be even more confusing if using AT. When I first clicked it all it seemed to do was show the Introduction if it was hidden which was confusing as the Introduction is not a settings. This side tracked me somewhat until I realised it was referring to the settings in the "Customize this Quick Reference". I think it may have been a language thing as the word "settings" is only used in the "Save settings option". Perhaps the links "go to show/hide settings" could be changed to "customize settings" or something that ties in language wise. I actually found myself using the links as "back to top" links... 4. Table of Contents 4.1 This was really useful to have, especially once the Intro was hidden and I could see it next to the "Customize this Quick Reference". The only thing I found was it was difficult to read along the lines. It would be easier if it hade more line spacing between lines or a slightly darker roll-over colour. 4.2 I'd prefer it if the one / two word summaries at the end of each link in the TOC was at the start and in bold. So rather than: 1.2 Provide synchronized alternatives for synchronized media [Synchronized Media] It would be 1.2 Synchronized Media: Provide synchronized alternatives for synchronized media This makes it more in line with how it is presented in the rest of the document and more scannable. 5. Showing and hiding "Show Sufficient Techniques and Failures" and "Show Advisory Techniques" When using the document with "Show Sufficient Techniques and Failures" and "Show Advisory Techniques" unselected I wanted to be able to quickly show the techniques section from the Guideline I was on rather than have to jump to the top, select the options so that techniques were shown on all the sections. 6. Quick reference title I still wonder if we should try and amend this before it gets published. For me it doesn't quite tell me what it is. I know we have brainstormed this before but it I'd be up for dusting off the previous suggestions and seeing if we can come up with something. -- DISCLAIMER: NOTICE: The information contained in this email and any attachments is confidential and may be privileged.
