Subject: EOWG: Agenda for 13 July 2007 Teleconference
Importance: High

Dear EOWG Participants:

An agenda and calling logistics for our 13 July 2007 teleconference
follow.

Time: 8:30am - 10:30am U.S. Eastern Time. For other time zones see:
               http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/meeting.html
Bridge:  +1.617.761.6200 / +33.4.89.06.34.99 / +44.117.370.6152, code:

IRC:     Channel: #eo, server: irc.w3.org, port: 6665

Agenda:

1. WCAG 2.0 Working Draft 17 May 2007 Comments
   - Our submitted comments are available on EOWG list now
   - We've got a few areas that we need to clarify...

   1.1. Clarification of submitted comment
   - What did we mean by our comment on success criteria 3.1.4?
         [see "Abbreviations" at http://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG20/#meaning ]
         WCAG WG's question to us & my reply so far:

http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/w3c-wai-eo/2007JulSep/0004.html

   1.2. Clarification or withdrawal of two of our new comments
    - We sent two comments which were still in progress

http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/w3c-wai-eo/2007JulSep/0005.html
         comment #6 is regarding conformance requirements
         http://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG20/#conformance-reqs
         and #15 is regarding conformance referencing
         http://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG20/#conformance-referencing
    - Let's either specify what we mean, or withdraw these

2. Web accessibility current situation, EOWG short-term focus
    - Let's refocus.
   2.1. What are the current hot issues in Web accessibility? What is
the "word on the street" about W3C WAI's work?

   2.2. Priorities for August 2007
   - What short-term activity do you think would have the most impact on
Web accessibility and adoption of WAI's work:
   (Note that the only EOWG editor available for EOWG projects in August
is Shawn, and so projects with other editors will not be completed in
August.)
   (Note that we're looking to pick *one* of these.)

   a. WAI & WCAG handouts - updating the handouts list at
http://www.w3.org/WAI/flyer/Overview and promoting their translation and
distribution
   b. WCAG 2.0 presentation - providing slides and speakers notes for
presenters to use
   c. Refining the Quick Reference to provide more customization options
and a better user interface
   d. Providing basic guidance for "average" web designers and
developers (although this would take a long time)
     d.1. Something like the Quick Tips
<http://www.w3.org/WAI/quicktips/Overview.php>
     d.2. As an option to display in the Quick Reference
<http://www.w3.org/WAI/WCAG20/quickref/>
     d.3. As an appendix to "Improving the Accessibility of Your Web
Site"
      <http://www.w3.org/WAI/impl/improving.html>
      (see list at:
http://www.w3.org/WAI/EO/changelogs/cl-retrofit#start )
   e. Writing up the Benefits of WCAG 2.0 (we have some notes in the
Requirements doc at
http://www.w3.org/WAI/EO/changelogs/cl-transition1to2 )
   f. Communicating the importance of accessibility support in authoring
tools
   g. Updating translations priorities and encouraging translations of
existing material
   h. Components of Web Accessibility: A Brief Tutorial
<http://www.w3.org/Talks/wai-components/all-extended.htm >
   i. Promotional Campaign: Integrating Web Accessibility in Courses
<http://www.w3.org/WAI/EO/Drafts/promos/courses.php >
   j. Other:

   2.3. WCAG 2.0 Messaging for July 2007
