Re: Inaccessible Compliant Sites

Hi Group,

To me the title "Understanding WCAG 2.0" is missleading. If you don't understand POUR or the numbering scheme. It is a great link from WCAG 2.0, but it doesn't stand alone. It reads like a glossary. If I was a first looking into WCAG 2.0, I'd read the "Understanding..." document first, and it would go down well. In fact, I'd probably quit.

So, I suggest an informal but accurate name like "A Careful Walk Through the WCAG 2.0 Guidelines". The introduction should briefly recap the principles with a link to the section "The Four Principles of Accessibility " of WCAG. It should also explain the guideline numbering scheme. Also, there should be an explanation that this is not an overview to be read before launching into the Guidelines. Instead it should state that it is meant to be read with the guidelines to expand on and explain difficult details of the individual guidelines.

Does anyone else share this feeing?

Wayne
