Disability Standard for Education in Australia In August 2005 the Australian Government proclaimed a new Disability Standard for Education. The Standard clarifies the responsibilities of education providers and students under the Australian Disability Discrimination Act. The standard is completely comprehensive - including all types of education and training and including any provider (public or private). The impact of these Standards is likely to be significant with students increasingly demanding that education providers meet their legal obligations.
