background on WAI Site Redesign

EOWG,

Several people have joined EOWG recently and may not be aware of the work of the WAI Site Redesign Task Force (WSTF). For those new to the group, please read the following project documentation:
* WAI Site Task Force of EOWG Work Statement: http://www.w3.org/WAI/EO/2003/wstf
* WAI Web Site Redesign Project: http://www.w3.org/WAI/redesign/project
* WAI Site Analysis Summary: http://www.w3.org/WAI/redesign/analysis-sum
(additional information, such as that linked from http://www.w3.org/WAI/EO/Drafts/UCD/Overview will be available soon)

The WSTF employed a user-centered design process to develop the current prototype of the redesigned WAI. All aspects of the design have been deliberately analyzed, architected, and evaluated.

We are currently asking EOWG to review some specific details and revisions - such as the change in layout of the Announcements. We are not opening up other minor aspects of the design for EOWG review at this point. If you have serious concerns about the prototype, please do let us know as described in the e-mail archived at http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/w3c-wai-eo/2005AprJun/0081

Best,
~Shawn
