W3C has sadly announced the demise of Zakim effective 30 June 2015. MIT has allowed W3C to use their WebEx conferencing service until a better conferencing solution is available. On the positive side, the WebEx service will call you back on a landline anywhere in the world (at MIT's expense), as well as allowing you to connect by phone or by computer. I recommend starting to connect to the ATAG WG call 15 minutes early so you have time to download and install the WebEx application. I want to warn you that there are problems with the accessibility of WebEx. Please email me (jeanne@w3.org) if you experience problems, as WAI is compiling a list of issues. Link to start the WebEx meeting: https://mit.webex.com/mit/j.php?MTID=mdd715d54aa5646914e96012d0c7b12af You can get the password from the IRC channel Once the WebEx app downloads and launches, you can click the "Connect to Audio" button to select how you want to connect to WebEx. I usually select "Call me" and enter my cell phone number. Once I answer the phone, I press "1" to be connected to the conversation. If you need to enter a meeting number, it is 646 389 004. If you are prompted for a password, you can ask on our regular IRC channel. Alternatively, you can dial the audio connection number (if you are in the car or away from your computer): +1-617-324-0000 646 389 004 is the code to enter We still plan to use IRC to take minutes of meetings. Agenda and queuing will still work. Unfortunately, because we no longer have a programmatic connection to the phone bridge, Zakim will not know that the meeting has started or who is present. When you join the meeting, please go to IRC and type: present+ [your name] For example, I type present+ jeanne Thanks for bearing with us for through this transition. WebEx offers additional features and a great audio quality. It shows who is speaking, it has a whiteboard and screensharing (none of it accessible). We hope that MIT will upgrade to a new version of WebEx that is supposed to have better accessibility. Please contact me if you have any questions. jeanne
