AC: What was the patent exclusion email about?
<jeanne> The email was sent because of the Last Call of 2010 - over a year ago. There was an error in the W3C system so that the reminder was not sent out.
<jeanne> ... it refers to the opportunity to notify your lawyers so they can decide if there is a patent implication on any of the ATAG provisions. It should not impact the group directly, unless the lawyers decide there is a patent conflict.
<jeanne> ... when other mechanisms in the patent process kick in.
<jeanne> ... the legaleze of the notification was worked out by lawyers, hence the cognitive load.
<jeanne> ... please contact jeanne if you have any questions.
