Hi Jeanne, The group also approved this status section: Status of This Document May be Superseded This section describes the status of this document at the time of its publication. Other documents may supersede this document. A list of current W3C publications and the latest revision of this technical report can be found in the W3C technical reports index at http://www.w3.org/TR/. W3C Public Draft of ATAG 2.0 This is a W3C Public Working Draft. This draft integrates changes made as a result of comments received on the 10 March 2008 Public Working Draft and also includes changes intended to keep the document harmonized with WCAG 2.0. Substantial changes include: (1) Refocusing Part A ("Make the authoring tool user interface accessible") on requirements that apply most specifically to Web content authoring tools and away from generic accessibility guidelines. ATAG 2.0 will continue to require WCAG conformance for Web-based authoring tools and will add a requirement to follow standards and/or platform conventions that benefit accessibility for non-Web-based tools. This change will let the Working Group keep a focus on authoring tools and avoid the need to repeat operating system specific information that is already available elsewhere. (2) Replacing the concept of "Web Content Accessibility Benchmark" with a more straightforward relationship with WCAG 2.0. This has been made possible by the progression of WCAG 2.0 to Candidate Recommendation status on 30 April 2008. The Working Group seeks feedback on the following points for this draft: - Does the refocused Part A provide developers with sufficient guidance on what must be done to ensure accessibility of authoring tools to authors with disabilities? - Does the more direct relationship with WCAG 2.0 make the ATAG 2.0 requirements more clear? - Are there any other areas in which the guidelines may be lacking? Comments on this working draft are due on or before ?? November 2008. Comments on the draft should be sent to public-atag2-comments@w3.org (Public Archive). The Working Group (AUWG) intends to publish ATAG 2.0 as a W3C Recommendation. Until that time Authoring Tool Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 (ATAG 1.0) [ATAG10] is the stable, referenceable version. This Working Draft does not supersede ATAG 1.0. ==== BOILERPLATE FROM HERE DOWN ====== Web Accessibility Initiative This document has been produced as part of the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI).
