GUIDELINE TEXT: wording seems OK A.2.2 Ensure user configurable access to selectable actions. [Priority 3] RATIONALE: wording seems ok Authors who have limited mobility require quick access to the actions that they use frequently. DEFINITION OF "SELECTABLE ACTIONS": suggest re-wording from: Any items that are designed to be activated from within a menu, toolbar, palette, etc. to: Any actions that an author may select from within the menus, toolbars, palettes, etc. (e.g. "open", "save", "emphasis", "check spelling", etc.) SUCCESS CRITERIA: 1. suggested rewording, from: There must be an option to add and modify key-plus-modifier-key (or single-key) access to all selectable actions. to: There must be an option to set (and later modify) key-plus-modifier-key (or single-key) access for each selectable action. 2. suggested rewording, from: There must be an option to customize the items (from the set of all selectable actions) and their order within at least one area of the user interface that is controllable by a single selection (e.g. button bar, palette, panel, etc). to: There must be at least one authoring tool user interface area containing selectable actions available by a single selection (e.g. toolbar), where: (a) the order of the actions is customizable, and (b) the available actions are customizable (from the set of all selectable actions). TECHNIQUES: Applicability statements are OK. Techniques for Success Criteria 1: Technique A.2.2-1.1 [Sufficient]: Minor rewording Providing an access key utility that lists each selectable action (e.g. all of the controls in the menu system and button bars) and allows the author to select a keystroke for each action from a pool of available keystrokes. Techniques for Success Criteria 2 Technique A.2.2-1.2 [Sufficient]: Minor rewording Providing a customization utility that lists all of the control items available to be displayed in a toolbar and allows the author to specify which items to display and in which order.
