Dear W3C, On behalf of the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), we propose to serve as the Lead Translation Organization (LTO) for an Authorized W3C Translation of WCAG 2.2 into Thai. We have already invited relevant stakeholders from various sectors to participate in the review process, and all have agreed to contribute. It has a strong commitment to promoting digital accessibility through research, development, and the provision of services for persons with disabilities and the elderly, particularly through its Accessible Information And Communication Platform (AI-C) and Digital Health Core Business Platform (DHCB), formerly named “Assistive Technology and Medical Devices Research Center: A-MED”. It has a direct mandate and ongoing initiatives to address digital exclusion. They develop technologies and provide services (like an automatic web accessibility checker) to improve access for all, making them a crucial technical and scientific authority in ensuring the WCAG translation is accurate, aligned with technological advancements, and practically applicable in Thailand. Furthermore, Ms. Wantanee, as a member of the LTO, also serves as a Vice-Chair of the Expert Group on Accessibility and Usability (EG AU) of the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT) Standardization Program Forum (ASTAP). The EG AU has a function to support the APT national standardization activities in accessibility and usability.
