Re: Dutch Completed translation: Contacting Organizations about Inaccessible Websites

Dear Nymphaea,

Thank you for your e-mail. Here an update. Last week I briefly discussed your translation with Eric Velleman from Accessibility, who (co-)translated the WCAG guidelines in the past. I would like him to have a look at it, because he has much experience in translating accessibility documents. He sent your translation to Henk Snetselaar from Bartimeus (an institute for blind people), who was also involved in translating the WCAG guidelines, and asked him if he could check it. I will contact him after the Easter weekend to get an update.

Please contact me if you have other questions: annette@w3.org.

Kind regards,

Annette Kik

Hallo Coralie,

Thanks for your mail. I am glad I now know the status. I resent it because I had no idea what was the status and the next steps.
If there is anything you want me to change to the translation let me know.

Kind regards
Nymphaea

Hello Nymphaea

Diff tells me the attached document is identical to the document that you sent me last month. It is currently being reviewed by Annette Kik (cc'ed), Office manager at the W3C Benelux Office.
http://www.w3c.nl/index.shtml. nl

We resolved last year to get review from the W3C Offices, to the extent possible, of materials translated in the language(s) of their regions. This particularly applies for a document that we should be hosting on our own site, regardless of the disclaimer we ask translators to include, to warn that a translation may contain errors.

I will follow-up on this as soon as I know more.

Coralie

Hi Coralie
I would be grateful if you could host this translation. If you can
send me the URI I can complete the "completed translation"-e-mail

I have completed the translation into Dutch of the following document(s):

Contacting Organizations about Inaccessible Websites
http://www.w3.org/WAI/users/ inaccessible.html
Contact opnemen met organisaties over Ontoegankelijke Websites [and
provide URI(s) of your translation(s)]

I confirm that, in compliance with the W3C Intellectual Property FAQ
( http://www.w3.org/Consortium/ Legal/IPR-FAQ-20000620# translate ), I
have placed a prominent disclaimer in my translation(s) in which I
disclose, (1) the title of and link to the original English document,
(2) that my document is a translation which may contain errors, and
(3) that the original English document on the W3C website is the one
that is official. (Items (2) and (3) are in the target language.)

I confirm that the links within my translation(s) are valid and I have
endeavoured to provide valid markup and CSS (validation tools are at
http://validator.w3.org/ ).

Kind regareds
Nymphaea

It is not clear to me in what format I have to provide the translated
document. From what I have read I think it should be a html document
that is self containing. But where do I send it or upload it? How does
it end up on the list of translated documents?

Kind regards
Nymphaea

PS I am not using outlook so I could not use the mail template.

Hello Nymphaea

If you can host the translation, then give us a link to it.
If you can not host the translation, send me the .html file and we'll host
it for you.
