3.2.b Should the locators of a general link be packaged in attributes as in HyTime, or as child elements as in the initial draft? Consensus of the ERB is to use subelements to package up locators in extended links. The simplicity of doing it all with attributes was appealing, but there are two big problems: - it becomes awkward to associate locators with individual metadata - it becomes necessary to overload attribute values with space-separated tokens or some such that are used to help interpret the rest of the attribute values. Eliot assures us that this is legal HyTime, given the right grove plan.
