Pete Resnick has suggested that the URI syntax be changed to disallow schemes that start with punctuation (+, ., -). Although we're unlikely to register such a scheme, it's allowed now by the BNF. Most implementations don't check, but there are other things they don't check for either. Are there any private schemes that would be affected? Larry
