Hello Harald, I have sent today to internet-drafts@cnri.reston.va.us a new release of the VEMMI URL Specifications I-D that I also send you in a separate mail (draft-mavrakis-vemmi-url-spec-01.txt). I have finally got various comments (after my mail of May 2) from various software implementers, so I amended and improved the I-D in order to take in account all comments received. The changes are rather minor and all the significant ones regard a better and more complete description of the client/server dialog during the VEMMI service selection phase, in a new paragraph (Client/server dialog during service selection), in order to better answer some questions from developers (as 'must the username be followed by CR, LF, CR/LF?'). I also regrouped all the parts dealing with security in part 8, and updated the reference part. We would be glad to have this technical specification elevated to the Internet Standard level. I saw that you envisaged in http://www.apps/ietf/org/apps/actions.html to elevate it to PROPOSED. That would be very fine. After the required time (six months at least if I follow RFC 1602), I think we will be ready to move it to DRAFT as soon you will deem it relevant, as we have already more than two independent and interoperable implementations, and as numerous VEMMI services using this URL are now in operation. Could you please help me to elevate the status of this TS (I presume the required step is now to get IESG review and approval) to proposed standard? I thank you very much in advance for your help, Very sincerely, Daniel Mavrakis mavrakis@mctel.fr ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Daniel MAVRAKIS e-mail: mavrakis@mctel.fr MONACO TELEMATIQUE MC-TEL Phone: (+377)92.16.88.88 P.O.
