This isn't a language problem.  It's a problem of not having all of the
characters on everybody's keyboards.

I'd rather have all URLs based on digits 0-9 so everybody could type them,
than to have URLs contain characters that aren't universally available.

I'm just glad that we don't have alphabetic telephone numbers.
