Dear W3C and Members, I have a concern about your present use of the logo for HTML5 whenever you refer simultaneously to both HTML5 and all earlier versions of HTML. This I believe to be illogical; as a solution, I propose using the logo for HTML 4.01 and earlier to refer to those particular old versions of HTML, to HTML in general, and to new versions of HTML that do not yet have their own logo; and using the HTML5 logo only to refer to HTML5. The same for CSS: I also propose that you create a new logo not tied to any particular version of CSS, and use the present logo only for CSS3. I am sending this message to you and not the Web Hypertext Application Technology Working Group, because (in my belief) this proposal should not, in any way, affect the HTML and CSS standards themselves.
