My first experience with css (programming full designs with it, that is) was a few days ago, and while attempting to re-create this design 100% constitued of tables:
I managed to do everything tableless with css.. and was stunned with all the new possibilities I discovered.. however.. I found a glitch or I am missing a code.. I found no way to re-criate the seamless background-menu.
  Seamless background-menu?

See for yourself: www.diablo2bra.com as much content I add on the table in the middle, as much the menu of the right and left will follow it, therefore their background will cover everything seamless until the bottom of the page.
With css I find this impossible to be done with-out tables, I cannot manage to do it, all I can do is a non-automatic sized menu (navbar style)..
here is what I have so far:
Please if you experts could please point me in the right direction :)
