Dear colleagues, we would like to cordially invite you to express your interest in organizing LDK 2027 locally. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any questions. ========================== CALL FOR BIDS: LDK 2027 ========================== The Scientific Advisory Committee of the Language, Data and Knowledge Conferences (LDK) welcomes bids from organisers for the 6th Language, Data and Knowledge Conference in 2027. Proposals should consider the following criteria: Expected date: Summer 2027 (typically in September); Expected size: About 150 onsite participants; Location restriction: the conference needs to be hosted in one of the participating countries in the COST Action GOBLIN (CA23147) <https://goblin-cost.eu/about/participating-countries/> due to funding offered by this project; Accessible by international travel; Affordable accommodation for participants; The event is expected to be a 2-day conference with at least one additional day of workshops; Program chairs and proceedings chairs will be selected by the LDK SAC and work in close collaboration with the local organisers; Website hosting is provided by the University of Galway in line with the LDK SAC charter; The conference will take place in hybrid mode. Please indicate in your application how the hybrid mode can be accommodated. Funding for the conference will be provided by the COST Action GOBLIN (CA23147), which includes the room costs, audio-visual materials, poster stands, coffee breaks, travel and daily allowance (including accommodation costs) for organizers and invited speakers of the main conference, dissemination and other material costs. No registration fee is foreseen for this conference, but participants may be expected to pay for the lunch and/or conference dinner. Please indicate in the application if any complementary support by other grants, projects, institutions or sponsorships by companies and other organisations is available. The application should include a budget draft covering the following: Room hire covering a large lecture theatre for the main conference and 5-6 smaller rooms for the workshop day(s); Coffee breaks (and optionally lunch; to be paid by the participants); One conference dinner (to be paid by the participants); Poster session hall; Refreshments for a poster session (optional); Travel and accommodation for approx. 3 invited speakers; Marketing and material costs; Other dissemination expenses; Technical and administrative support costs, if any. The application should include a short CV of the local organiser/s, emphasising any previous experience in the organisation of scientific events, and a short description of the venue, highlighting any technical and administrative support that the host institution can provide.
