10th International Conference on Knowledge Capture (K-CAP 2019)
“Multi-modal Knowledge Capture in the Age of Big Web Data”
Marina del Rey, California, 19-21 November, 2019
http://www.k-cap.org/2019/index.html

The Tenth International Conference on Knowledge Capture will feature
researchers from diverse areas of Artificial Intelligence on the central
theme of knowledge capture, including knowledge representation, knowledge
acquisition, machine learning and knowledge graphs. The First International
Conference on Knowledge Capture was held in October, 2001 in Victoria,
British Columbia, and was a follow-up of the series of Knowledge
Acquisition Workshops (KAW) held from October 1986 every eighteen months
until 1999. K-CAP has continued to attract top-tier researchers in
knowledge acquisition and Semantic Web in a close-knit, three-day setting
that brings the community together to discuss and present cutting-edge
research in a variety of modalities, including workshops, tutorials and
oral presentations for main research-track papers.

We have two special keynote speakers at this year’s K-CAP, including Peter
Clark from the Allen Institute for AI, and Catherine Havasi, from MIT Media
Lab. More details on the talks and the speakers may be found at
http://www.k-cap.org/2019/invited-speakers/index.html

Do not forget to register! Discounted early registration closes on October
10. and late registration on November 1. For visa inquiries, invitation
letters and other registration-related details, please visit

K-CAP 2019 will take place on the 19-21 November 2019 in Marina del Rey,
California <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marina_del_Rey,_California>,
which is a scenic fishing village located in Los Angeles County. The
conference will be hosted at the Marina del Rey Marriott
<https://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/laxmb-marina-del-rey-marriott/>, a
major hotel that is just 4-miles north from Los Angeles International
Airport (LAX), 3-blocks from the beautiful sandy beaches of Venice Beach
and 2-miles south from Santa Monica shopping attractions. The hotel offers
easy access to a variety of Los Angeles area highlights, in addition to
providing access to over 30 restaurants within walking distance.

We have reserved a small number of rooms at the Marriott for conference
attendees between the nights of 15-25 November at a rate of 199 USD per
night. These rooms may be reserved on a first-come-first-serve basis till
there is availability or before Tuesday, October 29, whichever comes
earlier. Additionally, Marina del Rey (and more broadly LA County) has many
accommodation options, including inns, hotels and short-term rentals like
Airbnb for travelers of all budgets.
