Remember folks, the perfect job application is the URI of your CV. Interesting that jobs in the SW/LD/Web-o-sphere tend to ask everything but a simple URI. Never mind all the hoops that one has to go through just to apply for a position eg. this ad in particular invites potential candidates to hop through a random recruitment company.. agree to their terms, create account, refill personal data again.. again.. and again, or in exchange of some convenience, hop through LinkedIn/Google+ (that thing still around?), which they'd be happy to have a peek at what you're up to and throw your stuff into the aggregate pile of goodz. How many eyes will be on that again? Heck, just by going to the application URL, one faces Google Analytics. So, didn't this community like invest a lot of time and energy into researching/developing CV/Resume stuff? I can name a few off the top of my head. So, where are all the doers hiding? or the cool SW systems that the community promised to build and change the funky world of ours? How many grants were filed. doing. exactly. that? Failed tech or just lack of incentives.. maybe laziness? Lacking a sustainable model? PS: if I were to write a job application for a role involving SW/LD stuff (even within the frame of a research institution), the *only* hard requirement would be their personal CV URI. No, not the URL to some random company's website. If a candidate can't even provide their URI in this day and age, why even bother? "PhD or equivalent within the field of Computer Science [..] Experience with [..] web development technologies" means what exactly in the end? A promise that they are capable.. but no proof whatsoever?
