Hello, This call may be of interest to some of you (and sorry if you already got the call from another channel). =============================================================== FIRST CALL FOR PAPERS WOMoCoE 2018 – 3rd International Workshop on Ontology Modularity, Contextuality, and Evolution Co-located with KR 2018 – 16th International Conference on Principles of Knowledge Representation and Reasoning – Tempe, Arizona, 29 October 2018 Website: http://dai.fmph.uniba.sk/events/womocoe2018/ =============================================================== In the Knowledge representation and reasoning area, knowledge is rarely considered as a monolithic and static structure. Instead, partitioning knowledge into distinct modular structures is central to organize knowledge bases. Moreover, representing and reasoning about context is essential for correct exploitation of modules and reasoning in changing situations. Finally, evolution of knowledge resources is an important factor influencing the meaningfulness of stored knowledge over time. Considering these emerging needs, the 3rd International Workshop on Ontology Modularity, Contextuality, and Evolution (WOMoCoE 2018) offers the ground to discuss current work on practical and theoretical aspects of modularity, contextuality and evolution of knowledge resources. The workshop aims to bring together an interdisciplinary audience interested in its topics both from a theoretical and formal point of view and from an applicational perspective. --------------------------------------------------------------- IMPORTANT DATES: Abstracts deadline: 16 July 2018 Paper deadline: 21 July 2018 Notification: 25 August 2018 Camera ready: 15 September 2018 Workshop dates: 29 October 2018 --------------------------------------------------------------- TOPICS: The workshop comprises, but is not strictly limited to, the following topics: = Modularity in knowledge resources = Modular ontology and knowledge representation languages Modularity in reasoning: incremental and distributed reasoning Modularity in ontology engineering: ontology modules reuse and publishing Algorithms and implementations for module extraction Ontology design patterns for modularity Modularity in ontology and data visualization Modularity in KR applications Theoretical and cognitive aspects of modularity = Representing and facilitating context in knowledge resources = Representing context in knowledge resources Ontologies for modelling contextual information Capturing contextuality in KR languages Reasoning with contextual information and metadata Matching, combining and disambiguating knowledge resources with contexts Contextuality in KR applications Formal aspects of context acquisition, representation and interpretation. = Evolution of knowledge resources = Definitions and algorithms for belief change in ontologies, and knowledge resources Reasoning and planning with evolving knowledge and data sources Evolution in ontology management: merging, versioning, alignment, integration Fault diagnosis and repair in ontologies and data sources Resource archiving and versioning Ontology transformation and ontology transformation patterns Evolution of knowledge resources in applications --------------------------------------------------------------- SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS: Submission of regular and position papers is possible: - Regular papers (12 pages in length including references) include research reports and surveys. - Position papers (6 pages in length including references) are intended for presentation of interesting new open issues and challenges, and opinions on the status of the field. WOMoCoE also welcomes reports on significant work in progress which has already achieved some interesting partial results, as well as papers recently submitted or published elsewhere as long as their topic is in line with the workshop. An extended abstract will be required and included in the proceedings for papers presented elsewhere. All papers must be formatted using the Springer LNCS style and submitted in PDF via EasyChair: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=womocoe2018 Further information about paper submission will be soon made available at: http://dai.fmph.uniba.sk/events/womocoe2018/submission --------------------------------------------------------------- ORGANIZERS: Loris Bozzato, Fondazione Bruno Kessler, Trento, Italy Martin Homola, Comenius University of Bratislava, Slovakia Till Mossakowski, Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg, Germany Antoine Zimmermann, École des Mines de Saint-Étienne --------------------------------------------------------------- PROGRAM COMMITTEE: Stefano Borgo, ISTC-CNR, Trento Paolo Bouquet, University of Trento Thomas Eiter, Vienna University of Technology Javier D.
