[cid:image003.jpg@01D3A99D.B913AB70] IEEE ESAS '18 13th International Workshop on e-Health Systems and Web Technologies Please consider contributing to the “Special Issue on e-Health and Staying Smarter” as well as IEEE ESAS 2018 (https://www.computer.org/web/compsac2018/esas), to be held in one day during July 23 - 27, 2018, in Tokyo, JAPAN. Selected original technical papers with novel research contributions in any aspect of e-health involving expert systems – knowledge engineering will be invited to submit for possible publication (after additional review) in a special issue of the “Expert Systems: The Journal of Knowledge Engineering”, with no additional cost to the authors (Online ISSN: 1468-0394; SCI-E, IF: 1.18). Call for Papers and Participation: Submissions Due: 10 April 2018 Web Page: https://www.computer.org/web/compsac2018/esas Submission Page: http://esas.compsac.info/ Theme of ESAS 2018: E-Health systems play a significant role in the well-being of individuals, be it as medical solutions or for healthcare towards everyday wellbeing of individuals. New models and methods continue to be developed to produce safer healthcare environments. The rapid growth of using such approaches and technologies in medical fields has generated new opportunities for improvement of emerging applications. However, huge challenges are yet to be resolved in order to develop consistent, suitable, safe, flexible, and power-efficient systems fit for medical needs. In unison with the main conference the 42nd IEEE CS COMPSAC, the main theme of ESAS 2018 will be applying Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Knowledgebase Engineering, Expert Systems, Web Technologies, Machine Learning, Data Mining and agent-oriented software engineering in e-health systems for “Staying Smarter in a Smartening World”. This workshop will facilitate much needed interaction and information exchange among smart e-health professionals. It will provide an interactive forum for discussion on recent and ongoing developments, key issues and challenges, and practices related to innovative applications in e-health systems. Researchers and practitioners from all over the world, from academia, industry, and government are invited to present their perspectives by participating in the workshop. In addition to regular papers, industrial practice reports are welcome particularly from industry authors. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: * Advances in e-health with artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, cognitive computing, intelligent agents * e-health solutions for business and industry * e-health applications in industry, business, healthcare, and education and training * Autonomic analysis, monitoring and situation alertness * e-health big data: Access, aggregation and use * Body sensor networks and wearable sensor systems on e-health * Medical biofeedback * Medical decision support expert systems and tools * Context awareness and autonomous computing for ambient assisted living * e-health oriented software architectures (agents, SOA, middleware, etc.) * e-health virtual and augmented reality * Emerging e-health applications * Mobile e-health applications * Health grid and health cloud * Health monitoring and traffic classification * Healthcare management systems * ICT-enabled personal health system * Image and video processing for e-health * e-health devices and smart parts for healthcare systems * Semantic Web and e-health systems * Ontology engineering and inferencing on the e-health systems * Knowledge and rule-based processing in e-health * Security, privacy and protection of personal data in e-health systems * Case studies, experience reports, lessons learned * The future of e-health Paper Submission: Submit your paper (upto six pages in the prescribed format) online using this link http://esas.compsac.info/ by 10th April 2018. Submitted articles must not have been previously published or currently under consideration for publication. Furthermore, to facilitate presentation of their already published work to a wider audience in person and to gain feedback on their work, authors can submit their published work in an IEEE journal in the last three years or accepted but not yet published papers, for presentation under the J1C2 (Journal First and Conference Second) scheme. For further details, please visit https://ieeecompsac.computer.org/2018/information-for-authors/j1c2/. Accepted papers will be published in COMPSAC Proceedings at IEEE Xplore which is indexed by several popular indexing services. Special Issue: Authors are encouraged to submit their high-quality, original work to the special issue “SI: e-Health and Staying Smarter” in the “Expert Systems: The Journal of Knowledge Engineering”. This special issue is primarily intended for revised and substantially extended versions of selected papers presented at the ESAS 2018. Additionally, this CFP is open to all potential authors. Papers covering state-of-the-art research in Knowledge Engineering and Web Technologies in relation to E-Health and Staying Healthy Smarter are welcome. The authors of ESAS 2018 papers should include a brief statement in their submission to indicate the way in which the article differs from their workshop paper and especially comment on the additional original content and contributions.
