coin for knowledge

hi everyone. I was wondering, do anyone know if there are there papers,
blogs, etc about coins for knowledge? or the use of a coin based system as
a reward for scholars. coins are not necessarily usable dollars but this
could just be a metric that is not based on citation, this metric could
account for other factors.
