Thus, the book seeks for researchers from Computer Science, Information Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Mining, Knowledge representation Natural Language Processing, Cloud Computing, Distributed Systems, Cognitive Computing and related areas to share research challenges, results, methods and advances in the application of semantics and Big Data as an important key process in the new data environment, paying special attention in papers which covers the direct application or creation of advanced techniques based on processing Big Data with semantic-based approaches. Target Audience ----------------------------- The subject area is a combination of semantic-based technologies, Linked Data, Big Data, Cloud Computing, Expert Systems, Business, Management, Information Technologies and Information Systems in which a broad scope of audience is interested in: Politicians, Professors in academia, Policy Makers, Government officers, Students, Corporate heads of firms, Senior general managers, Managing directors, Board directors, Academics and researchers in the field both in universities and business schools, Information technology directors and managers, Quality managers and directors, Human resource directors, Libraries and information centers serving the needs of the above among others. Recommended Topics ------------------------------------ The topics of interest include, but are not limited to: -Foundations Algorithms and programming techniques for large data processing Predictive/Prescriptive Analytics and data mining Real-time processing Intelligent monitoring and analysis techniques Fallacies and myths of Big Data and Semantics Subjectivity and sentiment annotation Concept extraction Sentiment-based indexing and information retrieval Emotions management: face to face, music, pictures, videos, etc Algorithms and programming techniques for large data processing Sentiment reasoning Natural Language Processing Semantic-based sentiment management Fallacies and myths -Architecture Cross-scale data architectures Large-scale hybrid architectures Cloud platforms, services and Big Data Management and Governance Large scale Knowledge management Large data storage techniques Distributed query languages Grid platforms Management and Governance Large scale Knowledge management Large data storage techniques Distributed query languages -Exploitation Decision support systems Complex event reasoning and processing of rare patterns Sensor data streams: continuous queries and processing Design-time analysis and prediction of complex systems variables -Data-driven application and use cases Smart environments and data applications Social networks analysis Big social and semantic data analysis Semantic-based Visualization of large datasets Scientific applications Sensor networks Context-aware applications and personalization Domains: e-Health, e-Government, Bioinformatics, Social networks, Opinion mining, etc. -Sentiment-driven application and use cases Social networks analysis Opinion mining Big social and semantic data analysis Sentiment visualization Context-aware and sentiment-based applications and personalization Domains: banking, e-Health, e-Government, Bioinformatics, Social networks, Opinion mining, etc. Expressive media -Benchmarking Validation and benchmarking of hybrid architectures Assessment, metrics, parameters, methods and benchmarks for Big Data systems Submission Procedure ---------------------------------- Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before February 28, 2014, a 2-3 page chapter proposal clearly explaining the mission and concerns of his or her proposed chapter. Submissions should be made through the link at the bottom of this page. Authors of accepted proposals will be notified by May 15, 2014 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines. Full chapters are expected to be submitted by June 30, 2014. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-blind review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project.
