Please forward to interested parties. http://2014.kesw.ru/ KESW 2014 will be the 5th conference in the series. KESW is a top international event taking place in Russia and dedicated to discussing research results and directions in the areas related to Knowledge Representation and Reasoning, Semantic Web, and Linked Data. Its aim is to bring together researchers, practitioners, and educators, in particular from regions often underrepresented at major Semantic Web conferences (e.g., Eastern Europe), to share and discuss ideas and results regarding Semantic Web, and popularize the area in these regions. We solicit original and substantial contributions for this year's technical program. The program will feature three tracks for research and industrial papers, system description papers, and posters. As usual, the sole language for all kinds of submissions is English. ------RESEARCH TRACK------ For the research track we welcome novel papers addressing theoretical, analytic or empirical aspects of research related to Knowledge Representation, Reasoning, and Semantic Web. Topics of interest include but are not limited to: Ontology management * Logical and philosophical foundations * Merging and alignment, modularity * Collaborative engineering and exchange * Using ontologies for modeling scientific knowledge Knowledge Representation and Reasoning: * Knowledge acquisition and management * Theory of automated reasoning * Practical algorithms and optimizations * Applications Linked Data * Publishing and integration * Querying * Scalability aspects * Open Data Natural Language Processing for Semantic Web * Information extraction and content analysis * Document clustering and classification * Opinion mining and sentiment analysis * Semantic-based information retrieval * Controlled natural languages Semantic Databases * RDF and other NoSQL databases for managing Linked Data * Ontologies and databases * Query answering Other Topics (not limited to) * Cognitive aspects of semantic technologies * Human Computer Interaction * Semantic Social Web * Trust, Security, and Privacy * Knowledge Visualization * Semantic Web in Education ------INDUSTRY TRACK------ For the industry track we solicit papers that describe practical experience of using Semantic Web technologies in practical projects. Descriptions of industrial deployments and production usage are especially invited but papers with preliminary experience are also welcome (as long as the authors are able to demonstrate, preferably with some quantitative data, practical utility of Semantic Web technologies in a particular domain). Topics of interest include but are not limited to: * Applications of Semantic Web technologies in various industrial domains. * Applications of Semantic Web technologies in community, government and semantic smart city. * Industrial trends related to the usage of Linked Data and Semantic Web technologies. * Description and analysis of concrete problems and user requirements for applying Semantic Web technologies in specific industry domains. * Analysis and evaluation of usability, assessment of pros and cons of using Semantic Web technologies in real-world scenarios including models of investment justifications (ROI). ------SYSTEM DESCRIPTIONS------ We invite submissions which describe architecture, design, implementation, or experiments with existing systems which use semantic technologies. Preliminary reports describing research prototypes are welcome, too. The papers should explain how the use of semantic technologies helps to solve specific problems and/or is beneficial for the users. The authors will be given an opportunity to demonstrate their system during the poster session at the conference. ------POSTERS------ The poster track is an opportunity to present research through an informal discussion or presentation. We invite submissions relevant to the above topics. Posters may complement submissions to the research and industrial tracks. Furthermore, we explicitly encourage you to submit a poster if your research or industry paper has been accepted. Depending on the density of the final program, the poster authors may be given short slots for flash talks to announce their posters. ------SUBMISSION------ All authors will be required to pre-submit abstracts of their papers. Both papers and abstracts should be submitted via Easychair at: https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=kesw2014. Size restrictions are as follows: * Research and industry papers: 15 pages including references. * System description papers: 10 pages including references. * Posters: 2 page abstract. Submissions must be prepared according to the Springer LNCS format. The link to the instructions can be found at: http://2014.kesw.ru/calls/ ------IMPORTANT DATES------ Research papers, industry papers and system descriptions: * Abstract submission: May 2nd, 2014 * Full paper submission: May 9th, 2014 * Author notification: June 20th, 2014 * Camera-ready submission: July 4th, 2014 Posters: * Abstract submission: August 15th, 2014 * Author notification: August 29th, 2014 ------KEYNOTE SPEAKERS------ * Julia Taylor, Purdue University, USA * Stefan Dietze, L3S Research Center, Germany * Vladimir Gorodetski, SPIIRAN, Russia ------PROCEEDINGS------ The proceedings will be published in the Springer's Communications in Computer and Information Science (CCIS) series. The papers will be abstracted/indexed by DBLP, Google Scholar, EI-Compendex, Mathematical Reviews, SCImago, and Scopus. ------ATTENDANCE------ At least one author of each accepted paper or poster must register for the conference and present the paper there. ------ORGANIZATION------ General Chair: Dmitry Mouromtsev, NRU ITMO, St. Petersburg, Russia Program Chair: Pavel Klinov, University of Ulm, Germany Local Organization: Ayrat Khasyanov, Kazan Federal University, Russia Vladimir Ivanov, Kazan Federal University, Russia
