CfP: Hacking Semantic Web with Perl Hackathon

Dear All,

The first international Hacking Semantic Web with Perl Hackathon is scheduled
to take place in London, UK, from the 28th to 30th of March 2011 (i.e. next
week). The venue is The London Hackspace.

Please see this web page:
http://www.perlrdf.org/workshops/london-hackathon-2011.html

A number of prominent hackers are meeting up to code software that will
subsequently be released to CPAN, thus becoming available to a wide range of
developers who have not previously touched the Semantic Web. These developers
are confirmed participants: Gregory Todd Williams, Toby Inkster, Kjetil
Kjernsmo, Chris Prather, Florian Ragwitz, Dmitry Tsarkov, Robert Barta, Mischa
Tuffield and Espen Borgen.

We welcome other participants, but note that this is not an event for
learning. Although some of the point is that developers with different
competence meet to learn from each other, everyone is expected to get up to
speed fast and contribute Free/Open Source Software to CPAN.

If you feel that you can make a contribution to advance the state-of-the-art
in Perl tools, please send me an email. We are most probably able to provide a
free lunch and dinner to all accepted participants. Industry or academic
partners are expected to cover the costs of participating, but there is no
workshop fee to participate, and we may also be able to help with a modest
amount of money if need be.

People who want to learn how to work with Semantic Web technologies with Perl
are referred to the International Conference on Web Intelligence, Mining and
Semantics (WIMS'11) http://wims.vestforsk.no/ where we will host a bootcamp.

Best regards,

Kjetil
