Dear Schemantic Wub, Our plea to Buytaert was based on needs not fulfilled by Drupal or for that matter ANY CMS listed on cmsmatrix.org, and detailed why we deemed it necessary to incorporate SW functionality into Drupal. CMS experts who we consulted, who build large web sites and portal sites for global non-profits pointed out Drupal as being the most promising prospect for inclusion of SW technologies in future releases. We are not responsible for spaghetti coding of others or substandard software engineering. We do agree with you that most CMSs are poor products in terms of software engineering. The next best thing does not exist yet, unfortunately. It uses the existing RDF capabilities of Drupal. This video was shown last week at DrupalCon DC 2009, and today Drupal lead Dries Buytaert blogged about it [2].
