Hi all, thanks for your feedback. We will shortly change the registration mode to - anonymous reading and browsing of ontologies - write access for registered users based on a simple e-mail confirmation with no questions asked apart from a valid e-mail address. We need the latter because we need the assurance from each contributors that he or she agrees with the CC BY 3.0 license for everything contributed and keep some means for dealing with infringements, Best Martin Dickinson, Ian J. But I'm surprised that registration has a mandatory requirement for personal details like nationality, postal address and gender. That seems both intrusive and of minimal utility - how does my nationality affect my ability to browse an online ontology? I note you have no privacy statement about what you will do with such private data, which is a legal requirement in many jurisdictions. > > Ian > > ____________________________________________________________ > Ian Dickinson http://www.hpl.hp.com/personal/Ian_Dickinson > HP Laboratories Bristol mailto:ian.dickinson@hp.com > Hewlett-Packard Limited Registered No: 690597 England > Registered Office: Cain Road, Bracknell, Berks RG12 1HN > > > > -- ----------------------------------- martin hepp, http://www.heppnetz.de mhepp@computer.org, skype mfhepp
