Dear all: We are proud to announce the public release of the myOntology platform for collaborative ontology engineering. [1] Platform: http://myontology.deri.at/prototype [2] Primer: http://www.myontology.org/docs/releaseprimer-myontology-ksiorpaes-20080617.pdf [3] Project: http://www.myontology.org Some features: + Wiki-based creation of persistent, dereferencable URIs for classes, datatype and object properties, and ontological significant instances + OWL import and export: You can upload existing OWL ontologies and use myOntology as a persistent place of publication, and you can export OWL serialization of myOntology ontology modules + Use of multimedia elements (images, videos, sound files) for communicating the intended meaning of a conceptual element + Expandable background mechanisms (similar to Wikipedia special pages) that help the community spot potential improvements of the ontology (e.g. list of incomplete definitions, ...) Your feedback is very welcome! Best wishes Martin Acknowledgments: The myOntology project is funded by the Oesterreichische Forschungsförderungsgesellschaft GmbH (FFG) and the Bundesministerium für Verkehr, Innovation und Technologie (BMVIT) under the FIT-IT "Semantic Systems" program (contract number 812515). Credits to all current and past team members (http://www.myontology.org/team.html) for their hard work and to Markus Linder from Smart Information Systems for continuously reminding me to send this email ;-) ----------------------------------- martin hepp, http://www.heppnetz.de mhepp@computer.org, skype mfhepp
