Each student gets a slot of 60 minutes. The language is English. The OTM'07 Academy Doctoral Consortium will be accompanied by prominent professors in the field of information systems who will study the papers in advance and actively participate in the discussions. GOAL & OBJECTIVES ----------------- The goal of the OTM Academy Doctoral Consortium is to support the participating doctoral students with constructive remarks and feedback on the presented research from prominent scientists in the information systems field. The OTM Academy Doctoral Consortium will be kicked off and rounded off by a discussion of general questions related to Ph.D. research. They include the following aspects: * problem formulation, * problem analysis, * research methodology,. * writing a thesis, * evaluating the innovative contribution of a thesis, * academic careers. OTM ACADEMY DOCTORAL CONSORTIUM TOPICS -------------------------------------- The OTM Academy Doctoral Consortium deals with the topics of the main conference. The general areas addressed are: * Distributed Objects and Applications * Information Management * Applications, Evaluations, and Experiences * Business Process Management * Software Services * Agent technologies and systems * Cooperative Information Systems An extensive list of topics can be found at http://www.cs.rmit.edu.au/fedconf/ SUBMISSIONS ----------- To apply for participation at the OTM Academy Doctoral Consortium, please provide an electronic version of your paper regarding your doctoral work to the cyberchair web page (http://www.cs.rmit.edu.au/fedconf/dc/2007/papers). The paper is restricted to 10 pages. Submissions may be handed in electronically in Postscript, PDF or MS Word format. The paper must specifically address the doctoral studentıs thesis! Therefore, the paper should * have the PhD student as single author (by preference), or as first author with his/her (main) promoter as second author, * formulate the research question, * identify the significant problems in the field of research, * outline the current knowledge of the problem domain, as well as the state of existing solutions, * present any preliminary ideas, the proposed approach and the results achieved so far, * sketch the research methodology that is applied, * point out the contributions of the applicant to the problem solution, and * state in what aspects the suggested solution is different, new or better as compared to existing approaches to the problem. Submissions will be judged on originality, significance, correctness, and clarity. Admission is limited to 14 doctoral students. Failure to commit to presentation at the conference automatically excludes a paper from the proceedings. To facilitate participation at the conference, PhD students will enjoy a reduced registration fee that will give them free access to all OTM conferences and workshops. ANNOUNCEMENT OF PROCEEDINGS --------------------------- Accepted workshop contributions will be published by Springer-Verlag as LNCS (Lecture Notes in Computer Science) as a part of the workshop proceedings of the 2007 International On The Move Federated Conferences (OTM).
