Position available on ontology engineering in agent environments

Applications are invited for the position of researcher on the EPSRC  
funded project “Evolutionary ontologies for open agent environments”.

The position is part of a research project that aims to investigate  
ways of supporting ontology evolution and adaptation in dynamic,  
distributed social environments, where software agents and their  
ontologies are not considered in isolation, but within the social  
fabric determined by their interactions.

The ideal candidate should have experience in one or more of the  
following topics: ontology engineering and OWL, Semantic Web  
Technologies, Agent-based software engineering, Description logics,  
and Artificial Intelligence.
A PhD (submitted or obtained) in computer science (or related  
discipline) or equivalent relevant research experience are highly  
desirable.

The appointment will be on a fixed term contract for 36 months.  The  
post is available from 1 September 2006, or a later date by negotiation.

Salary: Up to 28,009 Pounds p.a.
