DBin 0.4 "Barbera" - with GeoTagging support

Greetings,

Semedia ( http://semedia.deit.univpm.it ) is pleased to announce the
DBin 0.4 "Barbera" release. ( http://www.dbin.org )
DBin is a platform enabling "Semantic Web Communities", that is,
communities of people who want to create and share semantically
structured knowledge bases about topics of common interest. (e.g. might
be "all about a specific research topic", "Italian Opera", "Vegetarian
cooking", "Pubs around the WWW2006 site" etc..)

The following screendemo (just a few minutes long) shows DBin in
action and explains the main concepts:
    http://www.dbin.org/screendemo/dbintease.html

DBin 0.4 "Barbera" release introduces features such as:

* Geotagging and Geobrowsing based on our GMaps and GEarth Eclipse
Plugins. GEarth is embedded directly in the rich client interface while
GEarth is controlled real time (Great with multiple monitors setup)
DBin now can be used for plenty of geotagged based use cases ranging
from earth quakes studies, disaster management, wildlife tracking,
architecture and urbanistic, ecommerce, ufology.. :-)

* Semantic Query driven browser component can be used in brainlets for a
variety of purposes

* P2P: Much improved knowledge exchange algorithms, more stable and up
to 5 times faster

* Semantics: Increased OWL support in both the editing and the
viewing interface

* User Interface: New Look! (Modern SWT), Minimizes to tray icon,
property view shows property definitions (when
available in the ontology) and "zooms" on complex literals, New quick
menu buttons to perform specific actions

* Information filtering: New filtering policies based on revocations,
Digital user identity (private and public keys) can be stored locally
and reused in later DBin installations.

* Network: Socks 5 Proxy Support, support for intranet based Knowledge
exchange servers

DBin is an Open Source project and looks forward to development/research
and project proposal cooperations.
For those attending WWW2006, we'll be presenting at dev day, semantic
web track, so see you there :-)
