ISSUE-12: indentifying a conformant schema http://www.w3.org/2005/06/tracker/databinding/issues/12 Raised by: Paul Downey On product: Testsuite Our charter calls for a deliverable of: "# A method for identifying the patterns so that conformance of an XML Schema to those patterns can be verified. Note that this method is not intended to be used (and must not be used) by Web Services toolkits as an excuse for restricting their support of XML Schema." Do we supply an assertion mechanism, and/or an automatic detection mechanism based upon XPath, SCD's or the PSVI? It would seem that an automatic method would be particularly useful in finding test schemas 'in the wild' and the XML Schema test suite which already exhibit our recommended patterns, though could prove to be complex to implement in practice.
