This is a bug and it has been reported by Michael Kay: Bugzilla Bug 2682 Whitespace text nodes stripped from source document http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=2682 Thanks. -- Andrew -------------------- Andrew Eisenberg IBM 4 Technology Park Drive Westford, MA 01886 andrew.eisenberg@us.ibm.com Phone: 978-399-5158 Fax: 978-399-7012 Xavier Franc <xfranc@online.fr> Sent by: public-xqts-comments-request@w3.org 01/10/2006 03:08 PM To public-xqts-comments@w3.org cc Subject Question about whitespace stripping in input documents I notice that a test like Parenexpr-19 uses a document Tree1Child.xml that contains whitespace. However the test can work only if this whitespace is stripped. But the document has no DTD or schema specified, so I don't see how the WS could be stripped when parsing. Am I missing something (a rule that specifies WS Stripping)? Cheers
