"XML Signature Object Example" referenced in the XML Signature specifications

I note the so-called "XML Signature Object
Example" (http://www.w3.org/TR/xmldsig-core/signature-example.xml) we
are still using in the specification (including the 2nd Edition) is
rather flawed. For example:

a) http://www.w3.org/TR/2000/WD-xml-c14n-20000710 as a canonicalization

b) http://www.w3.org/2000/09/xmldsig#null as a transform

Might it be sufficient just to remove this example?
