Welcome to the XML Security Working Group! If you have not already done so, please review the group charter [1], the public working group page [2], and the administrative page [3]. The working group page includes a reading list that you should review in advance of the first F2F. Our first meeting will be the F2F held 16-17 July in Barcelona. If you have not already done so, please complete the registration for the F2F [4] and review the logistics page [5]. Please respond to the registration page even if you do not plan to attend or plan to call in (the registration has been extended to 10 July). Please also review the agenda and post any suggestions to the public list [6]. Please note that in order to have the F2F we will need volunteers for scribing as noted in the agenda. If you can scribe a section please note that on the mailing list. In addition, I will be looking for a volunteer (or volunteers) to maintain an issues list, and to report on that at each weekly meeting, and volunteers for editing. In addition we will need to determine a two hour weekly conference call slot. To this end, please complete the questionnaire in advance of the F2F (by 16 July) so that we can discuss this at the F2F. http://www.w3.org/2002/09/wbs/42458/xmlsec2008telco/ We have two mailing lists, the public mailing list ( public- xmlsec@w3.org ) and a members-only list ( member-xmlsec@w3.org ) for administrative, logistics and W3C member confidential messages. All technical discussion should occur on the public list, as noted in the charter. Please introduce yourself on this mailing list, indicating who you are, why you are interested in participating in the XML Security WG, which parts of the charter are of particular interest, your expectations, and where you might be able to contribute. If you are working on implementations or related standards that would be useful information. Thank you, and welcome to the working group. regards, Frederick Frederick Hirsch, Nokia Chair XML Security WG [1] <http://www.w3.org/2008/02/xmlsec-charter.html> [2] <http://www.w3.org/2008/xmlsec/> [3] <http://www.w3.org/2008/xmlsec/Group/Overview.html> (W3C members only) [4] <http://www.w3.org/2002/09/wbs/42458/xmlsec08bcn/> [5] <http://www.w3.org/2008/xmlsec/Group/barcelona.html> [6] <http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-xmlsec/2008Jul/ 0000.html>
